Do you provide transportation?

 

Yes we do! Our center's van is used to pick up children and students from Kalamazoo and some surrounding areas (Portage and Comstock). There is also a bus stop for Paramount Charter School that drops children off right in front of our building!

Is food provided at the center?

 

Absolutely! We provide a full-balanced meal program, as part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which ensures our children are getting the required nutrition for their ages and energy for the education and physical activities that we do at the center. Are you open on Snow Days and Holidays?

 

We are open on snow days, which is great for parents who still have to attend work and other obligations during the harsh winters of Michigan. We are open holidays, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

Do you accept DHS payments?

 

Yes we do! Many parents have lots of questions regarding DHS and the child care assistance that they provide. If you are planning to utilize child care assistance provided by Michigan's Department of Human Services (DHS), please Contact Us directly with questions about rates and payment options for you. Do you care for children with special needs?

 

The short answer is, it depends on the special needs your child required. Step Above Learning Center is able to accommodate many children's needs, but some children may need more than what we are equipped to care for here at the center. If you are unsure if your child will fit into our program and want to know more about the care we provide, please Contact Us directly and speak with our Director! Angie Weier-Carter will be happy to answer any questions you have!
